HOUSTON (AP) - A driver has died in a Houston-area car wreck that started an unoccupied house on fire.
The Harris County Constable's Office says the driver allegedly ran a stop sign early Monday, the car clipped a parked vehicle and then plowed into the house. The car burst into flames and set the home on fire.
Authorities say the driver died at the scene. Further details on the person weren't immediately released.
Investigators believe the homeowners are on vacation and the residence in northwest Harris County was empty during the accident.
Firefighters extinguished the two-alarm blaze that also spread to a tree. Officials didn't immediately release a damage estimate.
