Daughter Accused of Attacking Elderly Mother

CORPUS CHRISTI - An elderly woman called police early Sunday morning to report her own daughter attacked when she found there was no beer or dinner waiting for for her when she got home. The older woman ran from the home when attacked, then called 911.

According to police, 41-year-old Deborah Morales was intoxicated when she came home around 7 a.m. and punched, kicked and slapped her mother.

Police say Morales took off running after officers found her inside the home on Rosalie Bouelvard. But she didn't get far. According to police, she tripped on the sidewalk and fell onto a recycling bin, before kicking and scratching at officers.

Morales is charged with failure to identify herself to police, injury to the elderly, assault on a public servant and resisting arrest.
