INGLESIDE - An undercover drug deal takes a turn when the man officers were about to arrest ends up leading them on a wild chase.
20-year-old William Joseph Clark was the one who lead sheriff's deputies on a wild high speed chase. Undercover narcotics officers with the San Patricio sheriffs office were set to meet up with Clark to buy drugs.
So they showed up to this parking lot at this Dairy Queen in Ingelside to buy Cocaine from the suspect. When the officers blocked Clark in to arrest him, they say he freaked out. He ramming into one of the undercover officer's cars and escaping.
From that Dairy Queen he took of toward Avenue A where he hit a person's car. And then he zoomed toward Gregory on highway 361 attempting to hit some of the Gregory police cars. From there he went he took highway 35 on the opposite side of the road toward Aransas Pass. He then exited on Avenue A where he stopped his car near Wheeler Avenue.
Clark then jumped out of the car and tried to run away. But he didn't get far before officers caught him.
Clark was taken to the hospital to be checked out before he was taken to jail. Thankfully no one was seriously hurt. Sheriff Moody says he is being charged with delivery of cocaine and extra charges will most likely be added later.
This isn't Clark's first brush with the law. Back in January Clark was arrested in Aransas Pass along with seven others after a drug investigation.
