DALLAS (AP) - A grand jury has indicted a 22-year-old man for pointing a green laser beam at a Dallas police helicopter during an investigation.
The U.S. attorney's office in Dallas announced Thursday that Kenneth Santodomingo was indicted on one count of aiming a laser pointer at an aircraft. Santodomingo was arrested Jan. 28 after the helicopter pilots noticed a laser beam on the aircraft several times.
The pilots found where the light was coming from and directed officers on the ground to Santodomingo.
Authorities say Santodomingo told officers he wanted to see how far the laser pointer could reach.
He faces a maximum sentence of five years in prison if convicted.
His attorney, Mark Fernandez, did not immediately respond to a message seeking comment.
