CORPUS CHRISTI - A man accused of stealing a car from an elderly man found dead this week is now charged with his murder.
32-year old Jacob Alan Crow had been living with Charles Noack.
Court documents state police arrived at Noack's apartment around 9 p.m Tuesday night on Noack after receiving a call to check on his welfare. The suspect's sister is the person who first called police and also let them know the victim's car was missing.
Inside the apartment police found Noack dead on his bed.
In a statement made to police Crow's sister says her "brother was a heavy drug user, and alcoholic and she was afraid that he might be involved in the victim's death."
She also told police after talking to her brother Wednesday, he told her Noack was "already dead on the bed" Monday night when he came home.
The court documents say it was at that time Crow took the keys to Noack's 2003 Ford Escort because "he didn't like the victim".
Police recovered the car Wednesday afternoon abandoned in the parking lot at the Weber Square apartments.
As for Charles Noack's cause of death, the Medical Examiner office says they are waiting for toxicology results before making a determination.
Crow is still jailed.
