Couple Charged with Shoplifting Jewelry - KZTV

CORPUS CHRISTI - A couple is charged with stealing $1,380 worth of silver jewelry from Boots 'N Britches Western Wear on McArdle Tuesday afternoon. Police say surveillance video from the store shows a woman placing the jewelry inside her purse before leaving the store with a male accomplice, who acted as a lookout.

According to police, one officer recognized the couple as Belinda A. Beltran, 32, and her boyfriend, Michael R. Ramirez, 33. Another officer was able to provide the couple's home address.

Police caught up with the suspects as they left a convenience store on Morgan. Beltran is facing a felony shoplifting charge due to prior convictions for theft. Ramirez is charged with misdemeanor shoplifting.

The stolen jewelry was recovered and returned to the store.
