CORPUS CHRISTI - A couple remains jailed because of a crash that sent three children to the hospital with critical injuries early Saturday morning.
According to police, Kimberly Gonzalez was driving the family's SUV with her three children when she began arguing with her passenger, Daniel Rivera.
Rivera is accused of grabbing the steering wheel during the argument. The SUV then flipped over on the Crosstown Expressway.
The woman's three children, a 6 and 7 year old and a 10 month old were taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries.
Investigators did not say where the couple and four children were coming from or headed to at 4am.
Gonzalez is charged with intoxicated assault. The boyfriend is facing three counts each of injury to a child and child endangerment.
According to police, the 7-year-old boy in the backseat was not in a child safety seat or wearing a seat belt.
