CORPUS CHRISTI - The cost of living is going up in the coastal bend.
Higher housing prices and wage increases are both contributing to this trend, but one expert said that's a price he's happy to pay.
"If you have a choice, whether you want recession or you want a booming economy," said Dr. Jim Lee."Obviously, I would rather try and deal with the growing pains."
Lee said the coastal bend is experiencing the second wave of the Eagle Ford Shale Boom, which has already had a major impact on our area.
In march, the coastal bend hit its lowest unemployment rate since 2007.
Lee said all this economic growth isn't stopping anytime soon.
"Three or four years from now, all those big industrial sites will be operational," he said. "Then we'll need another set of skills."
If you're interested in applying for one of these new industrial jobs, you can find more information here.
