Corpus Christi Police to Enforce School Zones Monday

CORPUS CHRISTI- Most kids around the area will be going back to school Monday.

That means, when you're driving in the morning and the afternoon, remember to pay attention when your driving through a school zone.

The signs with the flashing yellow lights will be on for the first time in a few months.
The Corpus Christi police department plans on having extra officers posted up along those school zones just to be sure you're obeying the speed limit.
Officers say that they plan to to be out at most school zones for the first few weeks of school, but after that, they'll continue to do random checks, to make sure drivers slow down.
They also remind everyone that it's illegal to be on your cell phone when driving through the school zones.
