Corpus Christi Police Department Mounted Patrol

CORPUS CHRISTI - The Corpus Christi Police Department showed off its newest members of the police force. Cody and Lady are American Quarter horses and officially make up the city's mounted patrol unit.

Today, they received their badges. The officers and the horses have undergone six weeks of training in Dallas.

Police Chief Floyd Simpson says the mounted patrol will allow officers to see over cars which is something officers in a patrol car can't see. The mounted patrol got their first assignment this afternoon and were sent to patrol North Beach.
