CORPUS CHRISTI - Significantly cooler this afternoon as temperatures struggled to get out of the 50s thanks to an early morning cold front that swept the Coastal Bend. Winds dramatically shifted to the northeast and temperatures nearly dropped 20 degrees within the hour the front moved through! Along with the cooler weather, drier air filtered in and dropped our dewpoints out of the 70s and into the 20s and 30s making it feel less muggy outdoors.
Tonight, expect mostly cloudy skies for us here in the city and along the coast with less cloud coverage for our extreme western counties. Temperatures will fall into the lower 40s tonight and wind chill values will drop into the 30s for most locations.
Monday, clouds will dominate much of the area and will continue to increase in coverage the further we get into the afternoon hours. Western counties near Benavides, Cotulla, Freer, and Tilden may see peaks of some sunshine breaking through the clouds, but again, as we move further into the afternoon the clouds should eventually take over. Afternoon highs will remain in the low to mid 50s with winds staying breezy out of the north around 10-20mph.
Tuesday seems like the best day to get some light showers and drizzle into the area and rainfall amounts will not be impressive with temperatures struggling to get out of the upper 40s for highs. Beginning late Wednesday and going into Thursday, the sun will make a comeback and temperatures will finally get a little warmer into the 60s.
Have a great week!
