CORPUS CHRISTI -- A local mom says her 13 year old daughter has been bullied at school for more than year and although there are anti-bullying rules in place, Angelina Ramirez says they aren't being enforced.

"It keeps happening over and over again and it's the same people the same bullies," Ramirez said.

Ramirez says her oldest child and only daughter has been bullied by the same girl at Tom Browne Middle School for more than a year.

"She was shaken up. She had a few minor scratches on her face, her neck," Ramirez said.

Like any concerned parent Ramirez wants the target off her daughter's back and says she's been through enough.

"Ramirez says inside an envelope is pieces of her daughters hair that was ripped out of her head when the two girls attacked her slapped and kicked her while she was at school.

"You can tell where they yanked a whole bunch of hair," Ramirez added.

Photos show where her hair was ripped from the scalp, something Ramirez can't let happen again, so she filed charges against one of the girls.

"A couple of days ago, I filed my first one against the one girl that had started everything she assaulted my daughter this Friday again," Ramirez said. She also blames CCISD.

"They should be enforcing stricter rules stricter policies that CCISD claims to have anti-bullying but where's the victim's rights," Ramirez added.

We spoke with CCISD's spokesperson Lorette Williams, she says this incident does not fall under the bullying criteria because both girls are at fault and this is not a one sided fight.

While CCISD doesn't consider this a case of bullying, the principal at Tom Brown Middle School says that disciplinary action was taken because fighting is against school rules.
