CORPUS CHRISTI - The Corpus Christi Police Department is investigating a bank robbery that happened just after noon today.
A man, wearing jeans and a long sleeved green shirt, entered the Compass Bank at 5015 Ayers and ordered everyone on the ground. He then displayed a handgun to the teller and demanded money. The suspect was last seen running across the parking lot of the Candlewood Suites toward the Peter Piper Pizza.
According to police, the suspect stripped off his green shirt and threw it under a vehicle in the parking lot of the hotel. He is described as white male, six foot tall and heavy set.
Police are looking at security camera footage from the hotel and other nearby businesses, but so far have not made an arrest.
