CORPUS CHRISTI - Employees at a local bank are shaken up after an armed man walked into their bank and robbed the place, and tonight the robber is on the loose.

The man police say robbed the bank was caught on the bank's surveillance camera wearing a green shirt, brown cap, and a green bandanna to hide his face.

According to police, the man walked into the bank just after noon, waving a handgun around and demanded all customers to get on the ground.

He then told the tellers to hand over the cash, they did, and he took off on foot.

The robber did get away with cash, but tellers were still trying to figure out just how much.

Thankfully, the gun was never used and no one was hurt, but employees and customers were still pretty shaken up.

And so was Toney Sager, who was actually headed to the bank this afternoon, "I was going to that bank and when I came around I saw the first cop car pull up. And then I was right over by the bank as three or four more came over."

That's when police told him there had been a bank robbery.

He couldn't believe that minutes separated him from being a victim of this crime, "If I would have been there not even five minutes earlier, I would have been inside the bank when all of this happened. I am blessed that I didn't get there a few minutes earlier. I hate that it happened to them."

Police told us they did stop some people, and have a few leads, including some clothing they believe belongs to the robber, but no arrests have been made at this point.

Sager is convinced whoever did this will be caught, "It's not worth it. Go get a job, it's easier to work. Once you get caught, you spend 50 years in jail."

If you know anything about this robbery, call Crime Stoppers at 888-TIPS.
