CORPUS CHRISTI - We had a mix of clouds and sun this afternoon with temperatures reaching the upper 80's to lower 90's in most locations. Winds have remained out of the east-southeast around 6-12 miles per hour and are expected to make a major shift to the north around 1am to 3am when a cold front will move through the area and pick up around 15-25mph with higher gusts possible.
As the front moves through, temperatures will drop into the upper 50's to lower 60's tonight and there may be some periods of light rain or drizzle as overcast skies spread over the Coastal Bend for most of the day on Sunday.
Temperatures are remaining tricky to forecast on Sunday as there is almost no consensus on forecasting models with some only getting us into the lower 60's and others going as high as the upper 70's. Given the potency of the front and temperatures only reaching the 40's and 50's in the Hill Country this afternoon, I think we will struggle to get out of the upper 60's for our inland communities. As for our coastal areas, I think our close proximity to the water will help get us into the lower 70's, but will certainly struggle to even get near there.
Overall, much cooler weather is on the way with mostly cloudy skies extending into the first half of the work week and only a stray chance of seeing some light precipitation. Rainfall amounts do not look impressive at this point, but a small chance is better than nothing at all.
Have a fantastic Sunday!
