Coast Guard Rescues Three After Sailboat Runs Aground

PORT MANSFIELD - The Coast Guard rescued three men early this morning after their sailboat ran aground 8 miles off South Padre Island near Port Mansfield. A picture shows Corpus Christi helicopter pilot Lieutenant Commander Ryan Matson (left) who helped rescue the three stranded sailors. The pilot said although navigation along Padre Island may seem basic, at night time it can become challenging because of the vast uninhabited areas.
