CORPUS CHRISTI - One man is thankful to be on solid ground after he was rescued from his sinking sailboat by the Coast Guard.
The 50-year-old man was about 20 miles offshore of Baffin Bay Friday when he sent a distress signal to the Coast Guard at Station Port Aransas.
By the time the helicopter crew arrived, the boat was close to capsizing in waves as high as 11feet.
Thankfully, a rescue swimmer was able to get to the man and they were both lifted to safety.
The survivor was not injured.
