CORPUS CHRISTI - We have observed plenty of cloud cover along with some low fog/haze over South Texas today that has produced only very light rainfall in some isolated locations due to a stalled frontal boundary lingering over our area. Unfortunately, this has only led to a ‘trace' of rain for a few lucky residents and much more is needed. Even with the clouds in place, we managed to reach the lower 80s over much of the region with the exception being along the coast line.
Tonight, the cloudy skies will remain in place with light winds out of the south around 5-10mph which could lead to some areas of dense fog. Overnight lows will only drop to the mid to upper 60s.
Sunday will still be mostly cloudy as the weak front will slowly tread towards the east and may ignite a few spotty showers and a couple of isolated thunderstorms. Though, I think most of the thunderstorm activity will remain well to our north and in the Gulf waters. Temperatures are still expected to reach the lower 80s as the winds shift from a west-southwest component to a more north-northwest flow by late in the evening around 6-12mph.
Monday and Tuesday look fantastic as overnight lows dip into the 50s, but upper 70s to lower 80s are in the forecast for afternoon highs with mostly sunny skies. A stronger Pacific front arrives early Thursday and will provide cooler temperatures as highs drop from the 80s to the 60s for afternoon highs on Friday.
Have a great weekend!
