CORPUS CHRISTI - We had a lot of clouds move over South Texas this afternoon as temperatures rose into the upper 70s to lower 80s over most of the region. Winds also played a factor in outdoor activities as they gusted over 30mph in the city. There were a few locations that picked up a few sprinkles/drizzle early in the day which led to a few hundredths of an inch rainfall-wise. We certainly need a lot more, but any little bit helps. In fact, there will be a few more opportunities early next week to see some rain as well.
Tonight will be mild and humid with generally overcast skies with lows only falling into the upper 60s and even some lower 70s. A light shower or patchy drizzle cannot be ruled out which could lead to a few more hundredths through the night, but will not amount to much. Winds will also stay a bit elevated out of the south around 10-15mph.
Sunday, temperatures will warm up drastically with a mix of clouds and sun as a weak cold front begins to advance forward to the Coastal Bend early in the day. Even with the front moving through near midday, expect afternoon highs to easily reach the mid to upper 80s over most of South Texas and possibly some lower 90s for our southern counties. Drier air will slowly filter into South Texas through the first half of the week as a reinforcing shot of cooler air will dive in around late Tuesday into Wednesday when highs will fall back into the lower 60s by Wednesday afternoon.
Have a great weekend!
