CORPUS CHRISTI - Today was a fairly cool day across most of South Texas as temperatures reach the mid to upper 50s and were some 10-20 degrees cooler than yesterday afternoon. There was a hint of some sunshine throughout the afternoon, but clouds are slowly going to be on the increase beginning this evening and last for several days extending through the new year.

Tonight, expect mostly cloudy skies over the Coastal Bend with chilly temperatures as we should fall in the mid to lower 40s along the coast with some upper 30s possible in the inland areas. Winds will be relatively light out of the northeast around 6-12mph.

Sunday will be mostly cloudy with a passing shower or two possible in the afternoon hours. Temperatures will still be below normal slightly as we go into the low to mid 60s.

A Pacific cold front will continue to edge towards South Texas and is expected to clash with plenty of Pacific and Gulf moisture and create some pretty hefty rains from the Hill Country northward. For us here in the Coastal Bend, the front will arrive late Monday night into Tuesday morning and we will be on the tail end of the system once again. This will mean plenty of cloud cover until at least Wednesday along with passing showers and possibly even a rumble of thunder throughout the afternoon hours with everything moving out by Wednesday night into Thursday.
This is certainly not going to be a washout for the area as the average rainfall amount will be a couple tenths with some residents getting a bit more and some getting a bit less. Still, everyone needs a bit of some rainfall and hopefully you get a good soaking at your home.

Have a great weekend!
