DALLAS - A North Texas jury is about to choose between death row and life imprisonment without parole for a man who killed his children's baby sitter.
Closing arguments are expected Friday in Dallas in the trial of Franklin Davis. The same Dallas County jury already found him guilty of killing 16-year-old Shania Gray to silence her from testifying that he had raped her.
Davis has admitted to killing the girl but denied to sexually assaulting her when she was 14. His attorneys had asked the jury to convict him of murder, instead of capital murder.
Davis shot the girl to death at an Irving park in September 2012. Her body was found a few days later in the Trinity River.
