CORPUS CHRISTI - The jury will soon start deliberations in the aggravated robbery trial of 21-year-old Miranda Cisneros. She's accused of hitting three Walmart employees with her car as they tried to question her about an alleged shoplifting incident last June at the Greenwood location.

During the trial, the defense argued store employees are to blame for escalating the incident by pursuing Cisneros out of the store, a violation of company policy.

At the time, Cisneros was pregnant and had a young child with her. She's charged with three counts of aggravated robbery and one count of child endangerment. If convicted she could be sentenced to 99 years in prison.

The prosecution wrapped up their arguments by telling the jury all the elements of aggravated robbery are present in their case.

The employees testified they had pulled Cisneros aside to question her about a container with baby products and household items inside. They say once she was left alone she fled the store with her child.

Prosecutors pointed to jurors the video evidence provided by Walmart which shows a white car pulling out of a parking lot with the driver's side door open. A Walmart employee is seen being knocked to the ground as the driver fled, striking two cars in the process.

U.S. Marshals caught up with the young mother six days later at a home in Calallen.

During closing arguments by the defense, an attorney acknowledged Cisneros is guilty of theft, but questioned whether she intended to use her car as a deadly weapon. The attorney claims she panicked when she heard police were on the way.

The defense is asking the jury to consider the lesser charge of robbery or theft, rather than aggravated robbery.
