OHIO - A Cleveland, Ohio woman has been cited by police after being caught on camera driving on a sidewalk to avoid stopping for a Cleveland school bus.
The bus stops each day on East 38th Street to pick up a wheelchair bound student.
Witnesses notified police after watching the woman drive onto the sidewalk on more than one occasion to avoid the bus which was stopped with its stop sign and flashing lights activated.
Parents were outraged over the driver's actions and her disregard for children or any other pedestrians that could be using the sidewalk.
Based on the tips from the community, officers were waiting on East 38th Street and stopped the driver Tuesday morning.
The driver's mother defended her daughter's driving saying she was in a hurry and East 38th Street was her fastest route.
