City Blames Contractor for Need to Rip Up Brand New Road

CORPUS CHRISTI - The City of Corpus Christi blames a contractor for the need to redo a section of Kostoryz Road that's already undergone extensive work.

Crews will be back out on Kostoryz, between Mansheim and Sunnybrook, to rip up the new concrete so the city can repair the storm water system.

According to the city, Texas Stirling Construction will foot the bill because concrete was laid down before inspectors were able to get a look at the infrastructure below.

KRIS 6 News incorrectly reported earlier today that Reytec was the contractor on the project. That information was based on statements from a city employee.

Repairs on the stretch of Kostoryz should last through most of next week. Traffic will only be impacted from 9:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m.
