CORPUS CHRISTI - Last June, a pregnant mother was caught on surveillance video at a the Walmart on Greenwood allegedly shoplifting. 21-year-old Miranda Cisneros is now on trial for aggravated robbery as prosecutors say she injured several employees as she tried to leave the parking lot.

A Walmart employee testified today that she witnessed Cisneros walk out of the store with stolen items hidden in a container.

The employee says Cisneros was taken to a room to be questioned about the items, which included baby and household items. However, the employee says once she was left in the room alone, Cisneros grabbed her daughter and ran to her car.

The Walmart employees followed her to her car and tried to convince her to come back inside. The incident was caught on surveillance cameras as the pregnant woman got into her car..

Former assistant manager Geraldine Page became emotional as she watched the surveillance video in court during her testimony about being knocked to the ground by Cisneros ' car door as she backed up. Page testified she sustained multiple injuries, including some to her right knee.

Page also testified Walmart fired her after the incident for violating store policy. The company prohibits employees from following shoplifting suspects 10 feet from the front door. She told the court she was made a scapegoat for the incident.

Another Walmart employee John Lopez testified he saw Cisneros hit Page more than once and that he was also knocked to the ground. He told the court he saw the car door pass directly over his head as he lay on the ground. He said he was also injured.

Cisneros was captured by U.S. Marshals at a home in Calallen six days after the incident.

Court officials expect the trial to only last for a couple of days.
