CORPUS CHRISTI - If you featured a live Christmas tree in your home this year be prepared to recycle it as soon as next week. The City of Corpus Christi Solid Waste Department will host recycling events on consecutive Saturdays in January.
Residents who drop off a tree for recycling will receive a free Desert Willow or Afghan Pine seedling in return. Remember, only clean, non-flocked trees without decoration will be accepted.
Saturday, January 5th 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.:

Trees will also be accepted Monday-Saturday (8 a.m. to 5 p.m.) at the Collection Center at 7001 Ayers Street.
Residents who do not have the ability or time to haul a tree off themselves, they can also be collected during your normally scheduled brush pickup. Check the calendar here. Be warned, if you set a tree or any other bulky items out too soon ahead of collection time your could face a fine from the city.
The city will have mulch made from Christmas tree recycling available free of charge beginning in mid-February.
