CORPUS CHRISTI - A 30-year-old man seen driving a stolen truck was picked up by Corpus Christi police after he ran out of gas while leaving town.
Police say Brandon Arko was seen driving the wrong way down Agnes last night without headlights. He was pulled over at a Stripes store, but fled once the officer found out the truck was stolen.
A chase was called off due to the potential dangers to the public. A short time later another officer saw the truck leaving town.
Before spike strips could be set up Arko bailed out in a ditch on FM 665 at FM 2444. He allegedly put up a fight as officers tried to arrest him.
Arko's accused of evading arrest, resisting arrest, auto theft and driving without a license.
