CORPUS CHRISTI - A year after a customer first told Action 10 News and KRIS 6 News about being ripped off by the owner of Cha Cha Events, Corpus Christi police have obtained an arrest warrant for 37-year-old Leza Avril Chandler.
A total of 11 customers eventually came forward to police claiming Chandler accepted payments for weddings, then left them high and dry.
According to police, she took $48,318.73 in payments from her customers. Chandler closed her business at 10241 S. Padre Island Drive and left town without paying her customers back.
She's wanted for felony theft. Last year, police and former customers told us they belived Chandler had moved to Florida.
If you can help police find Chandler, call Crime Stoppers at 888-TIPS, or submit a tip online at www.888tips.com.
