CCPD Statistics Show Drop in Violent Crime

CORPUS CHRISTI - The crime statistics for 2013 were presented to the Crime Control Board, Wednesday.

Efforts to decrease the violent crime rate during 2013 were successful. Violent crime is down in the city by more than seven-percent.

The new focus for 2014 will be on auto-burglaries. During 2013, the CCPD statistics show 600 more auto-burglaries than the previous year.

Man-power and resources will be devoted to reducing the number of car break-ins.
