CCISD Treats Fields for Ants

CORPUS CHRISTI - School officials have taken a major step to prevent another ant bite incident on campuses across Corpus Christi.

On Wednesday afternoon, Haas Middle School football player Cameron Espinosa suffered a severe allergic reaction while standing on an ant hill during a halftime huddle. Espinosa is still in critical condition.

Since the incident, CCISD has treated fields at every middle school with insecticide. Because of the strong chemicals used no one will be allowed on the fields until Monday.
