CORPUS CHRISTI - The CCISD school board unanimously approved a resolution Monday to move ahead with a bond election in November.
The exact bond language will have to be approved at an upcoming board meeting in July or August, but trustees made it clear this week they plan to ask the public for $250 million.
District staff will now begin finalizing the bond language for the ballot, and putting together information materials to distribute to voters.
The bond money would be used to replace several campuses, consolidate several more, and also make improvements at various high schools and athletic facilities.
Because the district is still waiting for the latest property valuations from the Nueces County Appraisal District, it's unclear what the exact impact on taxpayers would be.
The latest figures indicate it would be an extra $50-110 per year for the average homeowner.
