CORPUS CHRISTI - A small group of union members were outside the army depot to welcome the woman who will over see the furloughs for CCAD employees.
Members of the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers Aeronautical Lodge 2049 held up signs along NAS Drive to show they are not in favor of the upcoming furloughs.
4,000 CCAD employees will be furloughed 11 days between July and September.
The furloughs are part of the government's forced budget cuts.
Paul Creacy Chief Steward with I.M.A. said, "There are plenty of other solutions okay. That's why we are really out here, is to let them know. They don't need to furlough 4,000 people, okay. Don't need to cut our hours and don't need to cut our pay."
Union members say the furloughs will hurt the economy and troops who are serving overseas.
