CORPUS CHRISTI - Carroll sprinter Sampson Valadez was all smiles Wednesday afternoon when he signed his National Letter of Intent to run track for A&M-Corpus Christi. I remember the first time I heard about the legend of Sampson, he was in middle school and nobody could keep up with him.
Now four years later and Valadez holds multiple Tiger Track records, plus will be a part of the first Islander Track team to break in their brand new facility.
"My coaches and my teammates pushed me all four years to get better. It got me to this point to be able to go run at A&M-Corpus Christi. It's a blessing to have that and the nice school and the opportunity to go run track there.," he said.
