Cardenas Pleads Guilty to Hit and Run Crash with Biker

CORPUS CHRISTI - A 22-year-old man plead guilty this week to hitting a biker while drunk behind the wheel near Tarlton and the Crosstown.

Christian Cardenas admitted to hitting Jeff Crotzer, 52, in April of last year after having a few drinks and then getting into his white Suburban.

Crotzer suffered several injuries and is in need of medical care daily. Crotzer relies on a walker to get around and can't sit down for too many hours at a time. Due to his injuries, he and his family watched the sentencing hearing via Skype as Cardenas' family testified.

He faces up to 20 years in prison but does have a chance at probation. The hearing is expected to wrap up this afternoon.
