Car Thief Caught On Security Camera

ARANSAS PASS - One resident in Aransas Pass caught a thief stealing her neighbor's car on her security camera, late last night on Windy Oaks Drive.

In the video, you can see the suspect try to open the door of a truck, but when he finds it to be locked, he moves on. A few minutes later, he is seen going into the driveway across the street and manages to break into the neighbor's car and then drive off with it! Dawn Mellinger says she locked her car up before going into bed, so she thinks the thief found a way to get inside and start it up.

"We're in the process of moving and my car was completely loaded down. It had laptops, it had lots of personal items in there. As a matter of fact, my kids book bags were in there, jackets for the next day, everything was in my car," Mellinger said.
