Car Hits Pole on Staples and Texan

CORPUS CHRISTI - A 19 year old driver was taken to the hospital after he slammed his car into a pole.

It happened around 10:20pm on Staples and Texan Thursday night.

Police say the driver turned on to Texan from Staples and tried to cut between a wooden power pole and metal signal pole, but he instead hit the metal pole.

He was taken to the hospital after he complained about chest pains.

Police say he was also ticketed.
