Car Crash into Home Landing in a Pool

CORPUS CHRISTI - Two drivers racing on Doddridge Drive early Sunday morning resulted in one of the cars crashing in to a home around 5:30 a.m.

Police say the drivers of the grey car and green truck were driving at a high rate of speed when the truck bumped the back of the car, sending the grey car in crashing into a home and eventually landing in the pool.

The homeowner says this is the second this this has happened, which is why thousand pound blocks were placed around the home.

He says the car crashed into his daughter's bedroom sending the bed across the room.

"Well it just sounded like big bangs. Apparently the first bang is when he the barrier. The second bang is when he hit the house. The third bang is when he went through the pool and hit the fence," says homeowner Mario Vasquez.

Police say only a passenger inside the grey car was injured and was taken to the hospital.

While the grey car driver stayed at the scene the other passenger in the car fled. Police located the passenger a short while later, and he will be charged with failure to stay at the scene.

It's still unknown at this time whether the bump from the green truck was intentional or accidental.
