Car Club Show Aims to Raise School Supplies

CORPUS CHRISTI- School is set to start for most students in a matter of weeks and area car clubs are doing their part to help the kiddos.

From low riders to custom trucks and everything in between,
the 361 United Picnic car show is a monthly affair at the memorial coliseum grounds on shoreline.
But this time around, they are raising money for school supplies for area children.

For Pete Trevino of Sychotik Car Clubs, it's not all about the cars, but about giving back to the community.
"It's important...you know...we're given one chance to do things in life, and you know, when you get your calling, its just follow your heart, and make sure you do it with good intentions."

Organizers say the show was a big success, despite the morning rain, and they were able to raise enough supplies for hundreds of area children.
