Cantu Accused of Driving Under the Influence with a Child

CORPUS CHRISTI - The mother of a two-year-old boy was jailed early Tuesday morning for allegedly driving under the influence - with him in the car - and crashing along Saratoga Boulevard.

Julie Cantu, 22, was reported to police around 8 a.m. by a concerned motorist who claims Cantu's Dodge Ram was seen weaving through traffic before hitting construction signs and then a stopped car near Weber and S.P.I.D.

The child was not injured in the crash. A family member took custody of the child while Cantu was taken to a hospital to be checked out before she was arrested.
