PORTLAND -- From Korea to Calallen, it became a lifesaving trip for one lucky dog.
He was doomed to become someone's dinner in Korea, he's now settling in with his new family.
A woman living with her husband in Korea bought him and saved him from this small cage at a meat market there.
Because the laws there about raising and eating dogs are pretty vague, it happens a lot.
A vet treated JP for heart worms after his rescue from a menu and cleared him to move in with his new family.
We told you about JP last month and apparently that helped with his search for a home.
His name, by the way, is short for jackpot since he beat the odds, but, his new family thinks they're pretty lucky too.
"When we found him on the news we called and we were like the first pick and we found him," said little Kenlee Polk as she picked up her new pup and Bath and Biscuits in Portland.
Six different families wanted JP to come home with them, rescuers with Last Chance Rescue handled the adoption and chose this family since there are several children for JP to play with.
