CORPUS CHRISTI - It turns out the two people arrested for burglary Saturday night could be responsible for a slew of burglaries in at least eight different cities across South Texas.
Cops captured the couple at the Bay Shore Inn on Ocean Drive. They were wanted for burglary out of Sinton. A call came into our studios after we aired the suspects' mug shots on Saturday. The tip led to their arrests.
Sinton Police were looking for Amanda Boetel and Clifton Jenkins for months. The two were wanted in connection with several burglaries at a storage facility.
According to investigators, Boetel and Jenkins confessed to a slew of other similar crimes in
Mathis, Kingsville, Alice, Sinton, Ingleside, Aransas Pass and possibly Rockport and Port Aransas. Investigators also learned the duo has been selling the stolen loot at local pawn shops.
Some of the stolen property was found in their motel room, along with a young child who is now in the care of CPS.
Among the stolen property, investigators found a 2004 Calallen class ring, with the initials "LDS" engraved on it. The Sinton Police Department would like the owner of this ring to be identified.
They're asking anyone who may have had property stolen from their storage unit to contact police.
