Burglars Steal Superbowl Essentials From VFW

ALICE - The VFW in Alice had everything it needed for a super bowl party this weekend, until it was hit by burglars early this morning.
Two plasma screen TVs, beer, chips, and pickles are all the items that were stolen from the VFW. Ruben Lopez, the custodian who opens the VFW, says the burglars busted through the back door sometime last night after 1am.
Once they were in, workers say their first stop was for some refreshments. Lopez says they stole about 10 to 15 cases of beer along with a lot of chips from a back room.
Then they made their way into a different room, finding then stealing two brand new 40 to 50 inch plasma TVs, and pickles.
After stealing two flat screen TVs from inside the building, from the evidence left outside this morning, workers believe they look like they celebrated. This morning Lopez found empty beer bottles along with more cases of beer and chips in the back of the building. All which Lopez was surprised they left behind.
"They already had TV and beer, I guess they didn't come back for the rest," said Lopez.
Now with quite a few party essentials gone, he doesn't know what they're going to do about their super bowl party this weekend.
"We just put those super bowl signs... You know refreshments... For Sunday. Now this happens... So..." said Lopez.
And just like any party, you always need to know who is taking pictures. This time it was the VFW and Lopez says police have that evidence from several security cameras. Now he hopes officers will find the people who stole their party items.
