CORPUS CHRISTI - CORPUS CHRISTI - With rides with steep drops, a ferris wheel, and of course a few rides for the kids, which all means Buc Days is back.
This year, with new tricks and attractions.
Buc Days' Commisioner Marc Avalar say this year they went big on their food selection,
"A family funnel cake that fits in a pizza box, and we have deep fried bacon wrapped pickles, deep fried bacon wrapped jalapenos, so all kinds of good traditional fair food," Marc Avalar, Buc Days commissioner says.
The carnival also has one new ride: The Spin.
It's already is a hot ride for many families like the Tates.
"I enjoyed getting on the swing it and hearing this one scream," Samantha Tate says.
Being able to witness moments like that at the exciting carnival, is what brings a lot of coastal bend families together.
Something Samantha is grateful for because for her it is a rare occasion.
"We always come as a family, and it is just a good time to spend quality time together, especially with my dad being gone," Samantha Tate explains.
Her father works in the oil field and is gone a month at a time.
So, they come to Buc Days to ease the pain of being away.
Mike says being with not only his kids, but grandkids, is something he wouldn't miss for the world.
"Oh I enjoy it, I enjoy it, we look forward to it every year," Mike Jacobuss says.
Bringing families together like this, is what Buc Days is all about.
