Brutal Cold Arrives And Will Stay For Awhile

CORPUS CHRISTI- Brutal cold arctic air is settling over much of the country and we are included here in South Texas. A southwesterly flow aloft should barely save us from a freeze here in town and most of the Coastal Bend but also result in clouds and occasional light rain or drizzle thru the weekend. With the loss of sunshine temperatures the next three days will be 20-30 degrees below normal! Wind chills will be dangerously low (for South Texas) ranging from the 30's to the upper teens from now thru noon Sunday.

Tonight expect temperatures to continue plummeting into the low 40's with wind chills in the 30's.

Friday will be even colder with highs only in the low to mid 40's and wind chills in the 20's and 30's due to blustery northerly winds and periods of very light rain or drizzle.

Friday night will be the coldest of the season and in nearly a year as temperatures sink to 34 ( 31-32 far northern areas) with a wind chill in the upper 10's and low 20's and patchy light drizzle from time to time.

Saturday will be blustery cold with drizzle likely and a high of only 38.

After starting just above freezing Sunday morning, the last day of the weekend will still be cold but better than Friday and Saturday.

Stay Warm
