CORPUS CHRISTI - A brief lockdown went into effect at Ray High School around 10 o'clock this morning as officers searched for suspects in a reported dispute involving weapons.
However, there was no threat to the campus as Corpus Christi police officers were on Indiana Avenue which is some distance away from the school.
The original call to police involved a fight where someone armed with a gun was going up against someone armed with a pipe. Police went to the Taco Bell across the street to look for a suspect, but there's no word on whether anyone was found.
We're hearing there were some rumors being spread within the school via social media and text messages about someone with a gun on campus.
Students we spoke with said they arrived late to class and were told by CCISD police officers they could not go on campus and should hide across the street.
