The pink ribbon is an international symbol of breast cancer awareness. Pink ribbons and the color pink, in general, identify the wearer or promoter with the breast cancer brand and express moral support for women with breast cancer. Pink ribbons are commonly seen during National Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
The pink ribbon represents fear of breast cancer, hope for the future, and is intended to let women who are struggling with breast cancer know they are not alone. Breast cancer organizations use the pink ribbon to associate themselves with breast cancer, to promote breast cancer awareness, and to support fundraising.
Unfortunately, any company is capable of using the breast cancer symbol as their own and they could be asking for donations and keeping them for themselves in the future. If you plan to donate in the future, do some background checks on the company before donating any money.
