Boy Starved by Mother to be Adopted by Foster Family

CORPUS CHRISTI - The boy severely starved and abused by his mother nearly 4 years ago is getting a new family. Today Judge Brent Chesney gave his approval to the foster parents seeking to adopt Isaac Villarreal.

Back in 2009, Isaac weighed only 23 pounds at 4-years-old when he was taken into Child Protective Services care.

His mother, Alma Villarreal, is serving a 30 year prison sentence for injury to a child.

Isaac is now a healthy, well-developing boy with his new family. There's no word on how soon the adoption process could be complete.
