Boy Sells Lemonade To Raise Money For Breast Cancer Patient

CORPUS CHRISTI -- Tomorrow begins the first day of October and Breast Cancer Awareness month.
People fighting cancer usually have someone by their side throughout the process like a friend or family member, but one little boy wanted to show a stranger his compassion.
Ryan Garza is a little kid with little to say.
But it's what he does that makes the small guy stand out in a big way.
Ryan said, "You don't have to be big or tall or strong enough to help somebody. You can help somebody at any size."
The soft-spoken 11-year-old boy sold lemonade Sunday in Robstown.
The money will go to a woman he barely even knows.
Heather Wright said, "I actually have only met him one time."
Heather says she briefly met Ryan while he was selling lemonade at another stand.
Little did she know Ryan would later find out --through one of his family members -- she had Inflammatory Breast Cancer and he would decide to raise money to help Heather with her medical expenses.
Heather said, "I couldn't believe that this sweet little kid was willing to give some of his money that he collected for my cause, not knowing me or anything about me."
Ryan's family says there's not a selfish bone in his little body.
His mother Brenda Saenz said, "Not a lot of kids would think of helping somebody going through cancer right now."
So it didn't surprise them when he came up with the idea to sell lemonade for Heather.
It's an idea Ryan hopes other children will copy.
He said, "People, kids out there too, they might start selling lemonade for a cause too."
Ryan says after Heather is in remission from breast cancer he hopes to find someone else to help out.
