FALFURRIAS - The U.S. Border Patrol reports five immigrants have died trying to enter the country through South Texas since Friday.
Last week, agents found the remains of an immigrant on ranch land near Falfurrias. Another man called for help after his wife died while walking through brush on Saturday.
On Monday, an immigrant found on Falfurrias ranch land was rushed to the hospital, but died in the ambulance. Another immigrant suffering from dehydration was rescued near Kingsville on the same day.
Officials say exposure and dehydration were contributing factors in the deaths.
Further south, agents found the bodies of two people on the Rio Grande.
