CORPUS CHRISTI -- Federal authorities on Thursday arrested several people in connection with an illegal bootlegging case that was uncovered during a 6 News Investigation.
Authorities arrested William Henneburger, 32; Ruth Henneberger, 36; Daniel Diaz, 33; Vanessa Pecina, 30; Leticia Aguilar, 39; Joe Silvas, 43; and Joe Hernandez, 31. Each of them were indicted Wednesday.
During an undercover investigation in February 2012, 6 News interviewed Silvas, who admitted to selling bootleg DVD's at his store, The Bomb. Our investigation also found people selling bootleg DVD's at a flea market on Agnes Street and Navigation Boulevard. Henneberger was standing near a stand where others were selling bootleg DVD's, but he refused to answer any questions or confirm that he was selling illegal film copies.
They are all charged with criminal copyright infringement. If convicted, each faces up to five years in prison and up to a $250,000 fine.
